There were so many flavors to choose from and unfortunately they don't allow samples but it worked out. I got a scoop of both the burnt vanilla and salted chocolate. The ice cream was so creamy and delicious. Everyone was friendly and I was able to get my order quickly. I'd go again or even try to get it delivered to my house lol ”

Highlights: They have such fun flavors and from the ones I tried, they actually did a good job in the execution. I really enjoyed the pineapple salted egg yolk and Vietnamese coffee. I think the way they curated their menu is creative. The store is really cute and they also have free water. Lowlights: I can understand that they don't want someone going crazy and sampling every single flavor in their enormous menus but that can easily be fixed by limiting each customer to two samples - lots of ice cream places do this. ”

“ Morgenstern's is my favorite ice cream in the city. The flavor range here is unmatched. My favorites are charred banana and yuzu strawberry ripple. I've also tried lychee lemonade, pineapple salted egg yolk, vanilla matcha rice.... Aren't those just the most creative combos ever???? Other reviewers gripe about there being no samples, but I personally think that's part of the charm and adventure!!! Everytime I come here I try a new flavor. Additionally, as someone with a severe nut allergy, I'm very appreciative that Morgenstern's has a comprehensive protocol for avoiding cross contamination by using sanitized scoops and separate ice cream containers that are nut-free. The workers are very kind about it too. Only thing is that I wish there was more standing room. For some reason they have roped off half the shop, which makes it pretty crowded and noisy. ”

The black-and-white decor is super cute and gives the place an old-fashioned charm, which feels especially fitting around Halloween - it adds a fun, almost spooky vibe to the atmosphere! - Pineapple Salted Egg Yolk: like a blend between Taiwanese pineapple cake and a mooncake, creamy with delightful chunks of salted egg yolk. The pineapple flavor could be a bit stronger, but overall, I loved it. At $7 a cup, the price tag is a bit steep, but they have an overwhelming variety of flavors. I have been craving coffee ice cream for the last two weeks so I got the coffee crunch - coffee ice cream with a coffee honeycomb candy pieces for crunch. It was delicious - a little bitter, a little burnt, toasty coffee notes and a light creamy sweetness. A little pricey - $7 for one flavor in a cup or $7.5 in a monster cone. I don't think that I would wait in a long line given that there are lots of ice cream places around the city with interesting flavors, but it's worth popping by to try the huge range of innovative flavors. ”
